To our Barnes Dental Family,

These past few months have presented all of us with unique challenges, and like everything else, we’ve made changes to how we welcome you into the office.  We want you to know that we greatly appreciate everyone’s honesty, cooperation, patience, and understanding with our COVID-19 screening process.  Please take a moment to read our appointment process below, as it may have changed since you were last in.

The week of your appointment:

  • Familiarize yourself with our appointment and building entry protocol.
  • Call us as soon as possible if you have symptoms including a cough, recent or current fever, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or taste, OR if you or anyone in your household have had direct contact with a known COVID + patient.

Appointment and Building Entry Protocol:

  • We ask that you wait in your car prior to your appointment time.  When you arrive, please call or text the office number (309-454-7337), and let us know that you are here.
  • You will be asked several screening questions at your appointment arrival.
  • Please wear a mask to your appointment to minimize exposure to you and our dental team.  (Of course you will be asked to remove it when you are ready for treatment).
  • Once you enter the building, your temperature will be taken with a no-touch forehead thermometer.

What we are doing to ensure safety for all:

  • We are attempting to minimize the number of patients in the reception area and at the front desk at one time.
  • The reception area has been rearranged and items such as magazines and children’s books, which cannot be easily sanitized, have been removed.
  • High level air purifiers have been installed throughout the office to circulate and clean the office air several times per hour.
  • You will notice that all of our dental care team will be wearing additional personal protective equipment, clinical gowns, face shields, and high-level masks.
  • Hand washing stations and hand sanitizer will be readily available.
  • You may be asked to swish and rinse with an antiviral oral solution prior to your treatment.
  • High volume evacuation suction will be used whenever there is a risk of creating aerosols during treatment.

Be assured that we will continue to provide the best dental care in the safest and most comfortable environment possible.  We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.
